Common questions
What is the difference between engineered stone and natural stone like granite?
Natural stone such as granite, quartzite, and marble is quarried in solid slabs, so every piece is unique and no two are identical. Engineered stone is manufactured, so its color and pattern are consistent and predictable. Engineered quartz is non-porous and usually does not need sealing, while most natural stone is porous and benefits from periodic sealing. Natural stone tends to handle heat and direct sun better.
What full slab materials do you carry in Phoenix?
As a direct importer, our Phoenix showroom and warehouse carries a large selection of natural and engineered stones, including quartz, quartzite, granite and porcelain, in standard sizes up to Super Jumbo. We can also source other materials through our vendor partners.
What is the difference between full slab and prefab countertops?
Prefab countertops are pre-cut to standard sizes, which works well for many kitchens and baths. Full slabs are cut to your measurements, so they are the better choice for oversized islands, full-height backsplashes, book-matched pieces and slab shower walls.
Can I choose the exact slab for my project?
Yes. Walk the warehouse, compare full slabs side by side and select the specific slab that will be fabricated for your countertops, backsplash or shower.
What does book-matched mean?
Book-matching uses two slabs cut in sequence from the same block. The second slab is flipped like the page of a book so the veining mirrors across the seam, creating a symmetrical pattern.
